it’s been quite the journey

The things LinkedIn can’t quite capture, aka the lives I’ve lived:

  • as Head of Strategy & Creative for a New York design agency;

  • CEO of a London-based mapping / media start-up;

  • Co-founder of a sustainable fashion venture;

  • as a lifestyle journalist, film critic, beauty editor, and Maybelline’s official blogger for New York Fashion Week;

  • as a makeup artist for weddings, low-budget feature films, brands such as Armani, Chanel and Dior, and a Britney Spears tribute show;

  • rolling the autocue for the 4am news for Australia’s largest television network;

  • ghost-writing CEO op-eds and honing TEDx talks;

  • shaping strategies for coworking spaces, charter schools, AI chatbots and a Cambodian education charity alike;

  • crafting years of study in both acting and law, to choose writing instead.

I delivered a mindfulness hack to over 700 people at TEDActive; where I asked for 15 minutes to do it justice, was told I could have 90 seconds, and still successfully taught participants how to reset and focus. (The beginning of my nascent speaking career).

On a Fifth Avenue rooftop, I taught stressed executives how to literally and figuratively find balance on static surfboards, while being the rare Australian who can’t actually surf.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with a slew of creatives - spanning filmmakers, stylists and professional adventurers - guiding them in establishing online platforms, negotiating deals and navigating opportunities, providing support and a sounding board every step of the way.

As a journalist, I’ve interviewed CEOs, fashion designers, beauty moguls and film stars, and turned a plethora of strangers’ real-life experiences into cover lines. I’ve written for teen magazines, wedding tomes, luxury home guides, film bibles and health journals, and once was given the fun task of writing tens of restaurant reviews without stepping foot in a single one.
